The plans started in March. Started the research and i was put in-charge for all the necessary for that day. Ferry booking, spa booking, shopping trips, etc. However, due to the PH and some colleagues staying in JB, we had to make the trip as SHORT as possible.
Senior picked me up from home at 6.45am and we met the ladies at Harbourfront's McDonalds at 0730hrs. Had breakfast while waiting for the others to arrive, which includes my SIL, who decided to join us at the very last minute (3 days before the scheduled trip). Luckily for her, she managed to book herself a seat on the ferry. It was fully booked the day before our trip. Thanks to her cousins (BatamFast staffs) too who managed to book for us, 11 pax on such short notice.
After collection of our boarding passes, we proceeded to the boarding gate which was F**King crowded! With ppl heading to other parts of Batam & the on-going renovation works! We were q-ing, up to 30 mins just to clear immigration mind you! N when we headed to the boarding area, everyone was already standing infront of the gate sia! Typical Singaporeans! (no choice but to join in too...!)
The actual departure was at 0930hrs (SIN time) & to arrive Batam at 0940hrs (INDO time). But due to the overwhelming crowd, we departed 20 mins late & arrived Batam, cleared immigration at nearly 1030hrs (INDO time)! Our spa has been arranged at 1000hrs yaknow! By the time we arrive at Isabella Massage House to pay the packages, sent to the rooms and get changed, we onli started the sessions at 12noon! Luckily the staffs were accommodating. Based on the actual schedule, we were supposed to finish the spa sessions at 1pm and have at least 4 hrs of shopping & lunch before heading back to Singapore. We ended up having only 2 hours of shopping + mkn!
Rushed thru lunch & started searching for the items we've planned on buying! Too bad, i could only grab 3 btls of perfume, 2 sets of clothings for my kids, and some indonesian snacks! I didnt have time to search for my bag too! Got the transport to send us back to Batam Ferry Terminal and that was it. Reached SIN city at 2100hrs, and our husbands were at the arrival hall waiting for us. How nice!
It was my first spa session in Batam even after being to Batam almost every year! And it was awesome! Started off with the 1.5hrs full body Balinese massage, followed by the 30mins body scrub, 30 mins body mask, and 30 mins milk bath. We added the 15 mins 'ganggang' too! Just what i needed. My 1st time to Batam with only colleagues. No guys. Some pamper-myself time!
Thanks to Hubby for looking after my sick baby boy, just to make sure i had fun! We're planning on going again, this time round a 2D1N stay with the husbands and kids. Insya-allah!
